Although the state minimum wage doesn’t increase until 2019, a number of local minimum wage hikes took effect on July 1, 2018. The following cities and county increased their minimum wage on July 1: City of Los Angeles: $13.25/hour for employers with 26 or more employees; $12.00 an hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees. Los Angeles County (unincorporated areas only): $13.25/hour for employers with 26 or more employees; $12/ an hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees. Malibu: $13.25/hour for employers with 26 or more employees; $12.00 an hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees. Santa Monica: $13.25/hour for employers with 26 or more employees; $12.00 an hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees; $16.10 for all hotels.
