ABOUT MUUN CHI Founded in 2019 and based in Los Angeles, muun chi focuses on the gut microbiome, which scientific research has documented is critically important to personal health. The company believes that food is medicine for the body. It produces and sells a collection of real food probiotics and prebiotics made exclusively with organic, plant-based ingredients. No pills or powders. Just delicious, clean, fresh food that has no refined sugar, no dairy, no gluten, and no artificial ingredients. The health of the planet is equally important to muun chi. The company avoids single-use disposable packaging by packaging exclusively in returnable, reusable glass bottles and jars. It also minimizes waste by upcycling by-products from one production process into ingredients for another.
MUUN CHI GRAND OPENING
muun chi is excited to invite the South Bay community to its Grand Opening event on Sunday, February 25, 2024, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
The afternoon open house celebrates completion of the company’s in-store kitchen where all of muun chi’s organic real food creations are produced. “We are going to have music, talks by invited speakers, and, of course, delicious food for gut health, which is our focus,” commented Manette Jen McDermott, founder of muun chi. “I’m working on a few new products that will debut at the Grand Opening. We are adding to our probiotic fauxmage (plant-based cheese) line, and I’m developing a flatbread to complement our fiber-rich crackers. The event’s refreshment will also include our dips, hummus, and fermented honeys. We never use refined sugar, dairy, gluten, or artificial ingredients. Only clean, fresh food made with the plants that nature gives us.”
Music at the event will be provided by Thatcher Horrocks, an accomplished singer, songwriter, and performer who is a recent graduate of Redondo Union High School.
Clinical nutritionist Heewon An will speak at 2:00 p.m. about digestive system function and its important connection to brain health. At 3:00 p.m., mindfulness specialists David and Shelley Romero will share their experience with practices to manage stress and increase awareness. “Join us for a fun, free, educational afternoon,” Ms. McDermott welcomed. “We would love to have you try our new creations and give us your reactions.
Experience the growing community of South Bay residents who are investing in their health with delicious, plant-based foods that are medicine for the body.”
muun chi’s store is located at 1951 Artesia Boulevard in north Redondo Beach, near the intersection of Artesia and Aviation boulevards.
