We took our 10 Weeks puppy "Nemo" to this location today for his examination and vaccination . Dr. Yelinek was very patient with us , answering all our questions and very gentle with the puppy. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were feeling very comfortable and looking forward to the next appointment. Highly recommend this clinic!

The best!
I have been to many vets in the last 30 years, and hands down Redondo Shores is the best. From the receptionist, to the techs, staff is so pleasant and they really care about my (foster dog). They call in to check on him, and alert me of any changes etc. Oh, and little to no waiting. The best.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sara R.Los Angeles, CA14019172Jul 19, 2023
I cannot recommend Redondo Shores Veterinary Center highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, professional, and above all, caring.
Right from the initial contact, the team was incredibly friendly, with an uncomplicated and convenient appointment-setting process. I contacted them online and got a call back promptly. Dr. Dirk Yelinek and his staff exude professionalism while retaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts both pet and owner at ease.
Dr. Yelinek's genuine dedication to our beloved pup was evident during the visit for a well physical in preparation for neutering. He took the time to explain all the necessary procedures, fees, and was more than patient with the barrage of questions I had. It was refreshing to encounter a team that encourages questions and engages so proactively with their clients, demonstrating their top-notch commitment to education and transparency.
What sets Redondo Shores apart, however, is their obvious love and care for the animals they treat. The team treated my pup with the same tender affection they'd give to their own pets, reflecting their sincere empathy and understanding for their furry patients.
After the visit, they promptly followed up with the lab results, showing their swift and efficient workflow. They made sure I understood everything about the results and clarified all my concerns. This level of care post-visit is not something you see every day, and it truly speaks to their commitment to overall pet health and client satisfaction.
My experience with Redondo Shores Veterinary Clinic was so stellar that I have decided to entrust all my pets' healthcare needs to them. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to any pet owner seeking top-tier veterinary care that is not only competent and efficient but also imbued with kindness and a genuine love for animals.
Thank you, Dr. Yelinek and the entire team at Redondo Shores Veterinary Center, for making my visit such a positive experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

This is by far the best VET in the area. I moved to the area a few years ago and was recommended by a friend to them. I have also referred other people and everyone says the same thing about the quality and care of this facility. What a great recommendation! First off the entire staff is always so charismatic, knowledgeable, and gets my pup in as quick as they can. Everyone is overly friendly in a genuine way and makes you feel so welcome while being in good hands.
Dr. Cheng always resolves any issue my dog has without trying to recommend things that aren't needed. She has had a 100% success rate helping my dog get better quickly over the years if anything was going on.
Angie always goes above and beyond every time I speak with her. I can tell she has the utmost concern about my dog and just overall what she does. You can sure tell she is passionate about her career. She goes out of her way to make sure she can help in anyway she can. It's noticed and it's soooo appreciated!! Thank you Angie and Dr.Cheng for taking good care of Mazzy over the years. She sure appreciates it as do I!! They are our family after all...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The absolute best vets in the South Bay. The care that they have given our cats is incomparable. They are so compassionate and gentle with our babies. When one of our older ones ended up needing to be put down they gave us so much support and love. They even went the extra mile and sent us a card signed by the whole office with their condolences. Dr Mathi is absolutely amazing! And everyone in the office is truly terrific. Highly recommend taking any animal here.

Another disappointment in veterinary care in Redondo Beach/South Bay...
Having lived in the area for generations, and as animal lovers/owners that entire time, I can safely say my family has worked with and tried many veterinary practices over the decades we've lived here.
We really wanted to love RSVC, but unfortunately they are just another money making venture, with all the talk and none of the follow through.
From the fact that they still aren't allowing in-person visits, unless you euthanize your animal, to the over-booking of their clinic, or the high cost of services- RSVC hasn't quite figured out how to manage their client base, and continues to take on new clients, making appointments difficult to come by, and almost impossible to consistently work with the same doctor, on a schedule that works for you.
Additionally, after they've charged you top dollar for all the "primary care" veterinary practices, they don't have the doctors, equipment, etc. to follow through on the tests results and/or information you paid for and receive from them.
Then, you're left to your own devices, to go to one of their "recommended specialists", all while you lose more time and more money, just to do right by your animal and it's health.
For instance, the can't even perform a simple ultrasound, without hiring a 3rd party vet, which they have you put a $400 deposit down for the appointment, and then that vet is only in-clinic, when requested (and after they receive more money from you) leaving you to compete with all the other animals and vet practices their freelance vet visits.
This year alone, we had 4 animals in their practice, 3 dogs and a cat and while the doctors were nice, over the phone (and my animals seemed to like them) I hadn't met a single 1 personally.
2 of my dogs were brought as puppies, and received their "puppy package" to get all of their initial vaccinations, health checks, and were also spayed by RSVC- we have invested over $10k in the last 3 years alone, and they couldn't even empathize with the situation they've left me and one of my dogs in, as we paid close to a thousand dollars, and multiple visits, for urgent results, only to be told to wait weeks to see an internist, which is the only way forward, after the results we received.
On top of this, one of the doctors misdiagnosed one of my cats, who passed 3 yeas ago, calling his lame paw and infection, when it was in fact a classic symptom of a respiratory cancer that killed him, just over a month after our initial appointment. After following vet's orders, we applied prescription cream (which we paid for) to our cat's paw, as he lived in pain, us, oblivious to what really was ailing him, until he passed.
I gave these guys every chance, really did, and even after their mistakes and their out-of-date masking/health policy continued, but after tens of thousands of dollars of trust, I can only say to beware of this practice and it's idea of "primary care" professionalism.
It's tragic that the quest for more clients, and more money distracts from the purpose of veterinary medicine, and leaves pet owners beholden to vets with too many clients and too little time to seriously diagnosis, consider, and help our animals- it must be nice to be paid so much and have so little accountability.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Dear Evan,
You have expressed and decided we were not able to meet your expectations for specialty care as a primary care service. We do wish to reiterate that our concerns are always for the pet's health and when we are not able to arrange for services in house we are eager to arrange for patients to get the care they need with the specialty clinics in our area.
As expressed yesterday in our call we regret that our masking policy and curbside service has been disappointing to you and has been under review due to changes in CA State and LA County recommendations lifting. An update on our policies will be available on our website within the next week.
We understand you will be seeking care for your pets at another facility and we can only wish you and your pets the best for the future. We will continue to stive to meet our clients and their pets needs to the best of our abilities with professionalism and empathy.
Be assured that we will cooperate with your new veterinarian if they have any questions for us.
Sincerely,
Redondo Shores Veterinary Center - Alisha T.Belleville, IL02Jan 3, 2024
Recently moved from out of state and needed new vet. Tried one other vet before this and it was....not great. Dr. Mathai and staff were so gentle, patient and accommodating. My dog was quite anxious and they were just amazing with him. Definitely recommend this lovely office for your vet needs!

I used to love this place. Although the price was high, the level of care and customer service was amazing, so I didn't mind. However, this is no longer the case.
My pet had to undergo some lab work. When I called to get the results (I also had to get a prescription filled) the person at the front desk first went on to tell me I would have to bring my pet in for further examination (which I suppose I understand, but my main concern was the status of my pet's health.). I had to ask multiple times for the results if my pet's lab work. The woman replied saying I should let her finish. I told her I just wanted to k ow if my dog was ok. She then took her time stating the title of the lab work before giving me the results. I would have liked to know right away (as I am sure anyone else would have) instead of a build up of anticipation.
Also, they are still having pet owners wait in their car during the examination. It's 2023, the state of emergency regarding Covid has been lifted. When I asked why, I was told they have too much pet food in the lobby and no room for people. I don't know why they don't get a storage bin or something outside. I don't want to being my pet back to a place that doesn't know how to organize their supplies. They said they are expanding their facilities, but all things considers, this made me uneasy.
I also told them I was moving and I asked for a referral. Their suggestions to me was "why don't you try looking online. Not helpful at all. A simply "we don't have one" would have been fine.
This place was overpriced to begin with, but with the decline is customer service and bedside manner, it is a total rip off. I think this may be the first review I've left on Yelp that is not positive.
For the sake of your pet, your wallet and stress levels, so not take your pet here.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mike S.Philadelphia, PA33512Feb 7, 2023Updated review
So, it seems like the vet has taken note of my pet's fear of being examined there. They've started doing exams in the parking lot with me there to keep my dog calm. I didn't even ask for it.
Maybe there isn't mistreatment but it's time they start letting customers go in with their pets.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 28, 2022Previous reviewI've been taking my pet here for about a year now. At first, my pet was okay going inside but now, it seems like they are terrified to go in the building. Since Redondo shores doesn't allow pet owners inside, my only assumption is that they are mistreating my animal during treatments/exams. I'll have to find a vet that I can go in with my pet.
