Came here for a baby shower and was able to enjoy this place with some great service and entertainment that they provide. They have their own parking lot, so when you park it should be quite easy to get inside. Once you go inside, you are immersed in an open room with different parts that is separated for ordering, dining, and lounging. If you go further inside, they have additional rooms that is an activity room for kids, and another room that is for people to host parties.
Food
I was able to try some of the food that came with the party, the fried chicken, the pasta stood out to me. It was nice that they had juice, soda, utensils and all the food ready for the guests to enjoy. Just wish that their plates weren't so flimsy.
Activity Room
This room had so many things, ping pong table, to computers to play video games, to a huge connect 4, to even small arcade machines to play classic games like street fighter. There was just a few devices that wasn't working.
Like I mentioned the staff were really nice, and I really don't have anything to complain about this place. They also had a bit of an outside but I wasn't able to experience that. If only a place like this exists towards San Bernardino. Until next time!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tina P.Los Angeles, CA016Jan 21, 2024
Walked in on a late Sunday morning. I was headed to Coffee Bean on Artesia, saw this place, and decided to stop in for coffee here instead.
I don't know if the hostess was having a bad day, didn't feel like being at work, or if I was the wrong color -- but the greeting and treatment I received let me know that I didn't need to come back again. And it's not like they were slammed with business.
She spoke quickly, tossed the menu at me, and mentioned something about seating myself. I said I wouldn't be staying and after giving half a thought to ordering coffee, I said nevermind and left. I have a thing about not spending money where it feels like my presence is unwanted.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 6, 2024
The service was fast and friendly, and the interior is clean but maybe a little stylistically confused--half sofa islands, and half regular tables and booths. Tiled walls and narrow windows near the dealings lend a bit of institutional feel to the mix.
My kids ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns, and the kids menu Mac & cheese. I had a burrito with steak. The scrambled eggs came just a few minutes after we ordered, suggesting it was premade. My son devoured it anyways and said it was good. The Mac a d cheese came next, and my burrito last. The steak inside the burrito was plentiful and surprisingly good.
All in all, it was a nice lunch break.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott C.Redondo Beach, CA7130521Mar 27, 20241 check-in
I've passed this place and wanted to give a try, after finally someone taking my order at the counter it came out in about 15 minutes. The place has a coffee house vibe, great tunes, and beer and wine. I got the chicken pesto sandwich with salad instead of fries. All ingredients are fresh. Standard dressing is balsamic. Sandwich came HOT and is a knife and fork sandwich, it is so packed with delicious ingredients it falls apart. Great hidden gem

Stopped in for coffees and a muffin while waiting for our grandson's dance class. Glad we didn't bring him as he'd never leave if he saw the games room!
Service was excellent. Not just delivery of our items to our table, but also picking up after us.
I was impressed with the cafe, games room, and it looks like they have a large meeting room. Perfect ambiance for a business meeting? (Coffee, food, booze, fun)
We'll be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2023
I ordered Avocado Toast based on the recommendation of employees at the local physical therapy office across the street. The dish had whole wheat toast with a fried over easy egg and sliced avocado atop the egg with chili powder. Pretty simple dish with no meat. I also ordered a hot cocoa which was disappointing. I could have made it at home with powdered cocoa and hot water and it would have tasted better. The total for the above breakfast was almost $20 including tip. I like to support local businesses but they have to be better than IHOP or Denny's chain competitors. I think the restaurant has a lot of open space for people who have no where else to hang out, study, or socialize. It's built for a generation with plenty of time on their hands to lounge.

Mediocre food lots of space. I was very excited about the pretzels almost seemed store bought and the cheese was cold. The pesto steak was ok nothing special. The chicken quesadilla was so so we only ate half. The calamari was very fishy we didn't eat it. On our way out we got a blueberry muffin it was super small we but into it and spat it out. The fries were good. Lots of opens space. Maybe a good place for colleges kids

First time here with my wife. We went shopping nearby and decided to try this place. Ample parking, lot of seating configurations from couches and booths. Menu was quite good with variety of sandwiches, pasta, salads and more. I ordered the Asian Noodles with shrimp added. Boy was it over the top good. My wife ordered the capreese sandwich with sweet potato fries. Her plate, was clean after it was served up. They have a game room for the little guys and multiple TV's to watch sports. Tried a El Segundo Mayberry beer. Very tasty and not too hoppy. With todays prices at most restaurants it was priced right. Service was A-1.
Only blemish was the couches, worn with stains. The couches are a nice feature for big groups.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Feb 1, 2023
A reviewer declared the Great Room terrific for work or studying - I would agree! At lunch today it was super quiet, no families, kids or any classified documents....er, I mean there was not one person emitting any noise above a soft hum. Nice!
I can see why TGRC is a favorite for many - loads of space, cushy couches, tables, chairs and what I understand is a super kids space. Easy to locate and plenty of parking. Food? Good at best, I'd admit we were underwhelmed. Great that there's wine and beer...who needs an excuse to sip a glass or pint? No excuses here, in my opinion imbibing is a lifestyle best served in abundance. The menu looks and sounds fantastic but todays BBQ Bacon burger nor the Chicken Pesto sandwich weren't amazing. Not at all bad, just not something for which we would make a special visit.
The burger was cooked through - I prefer medium rare - but after the first bite I was glad it was cooked through. The beef wasn't anything near prime or choice and likely it was a pre-formed patty (if it wasn't pre-formed, I'd recommend whomever assembles the burger patties to not overwork the ground beef, the texture wasn't optimal.) Greens were fresh, tomatoes were less than nicely ripened. Brioche, blue cheese and bacon were all good.
The chicken pesto sandwich was good with artichoke hearts and sweet sundried tomatoes - but didn't thrill in the grill department - missing was that char taste I know and love. Pesto was tasty which saved the sandwich.
The fries won't win awards - almost an afterthought. These weren't fresh hot out of the fryer and possibly lacked a sprinkle or two of salt. I just want fresh, hot fries...know what I mean?
All the food we had today would easily pass as good for many. I was expecting much more given the reviews, but I do understand the lure and why The Great Room Cafe satisfies moms, dads, families and kids.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Joanne E.Los Angeles, CA647330195Dec 8, 2023
Food & Drinks (5/5): Their matcha latte has a sweetness to it that doesn't require any add ons. Their iced mocha stays true to its name with its chocolate-y coffee goodness. *drool* It definitely kept me awake during my long study sessions. The food is great in portion. I had the garlic cream with added chicken and it was absolutely filling from the amount of pasta and creaminess of the sauce. The chicken was juicy and there was a grandiose portion. I was literally fighting to finish the whole thing but pasta 1-joanne 0.
Ambiance (5/5): The Great Room is such a multi-faceted place. Want to celebrate a birthday? Have a study session? Play arcade games? Go on a cute little casual date? Hold an event? Spend time with family? This place is truly unique.
Price (5/5): Drinks I felt were on the less expensive side ($3-$6) and food have been pretty average price ($12-$15).
Service (5/5): Every person who has helped me was always so accommodating. They're really great at giving that home-like feel.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
