Larry Halvorsen Volunteer of the Year Our Chamber is so blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers: In 1999 The Volunteer of the Year Award was implemented to acknowledge and thank volunteers for their contribution to our community. More specifically, we wanted to honor one extraordinary individual. Before I begin this year’s introduction, would all Past Volunteers of the Year please stand up and be recognized… This year’s recipient is a long time Chamber member and supporter. This person is an active member of 2 Chamber committees, and is also on our Board of Directors. We can count on this person to help out at events when needed, reach out to members when needed, and make everyone feel welcome. This person also volunteers their time and talents outside of the Redondo Beach Chamber. Our volunteer loves cooking and socializing, and has volunteered for the Police Appreciation luncheon the past four years, and the Fire Department Appreciation the past 2 years. He also participates in collecting food donations for the hungry in his home city of Torrance. And every Fall he cooks for 150 people all weekend for a club get together. Our volunteer received a Computer Science BS from City University; Seattle, Washington. And he is a proud graduate of the United States Naval Academy. It’s no surprise that he has also served as Rear Commodore at Port Royal Yacht Club. Our volunteer has been a resident of the South Bay since 1998 providing his knowledge and skill in the staffing industry. His vast experience in all levels of recruiting process allows his dedicated staff of professionals to make exceptional matches between employee and employer. It is our privilege to introduce 2019’s Volunteer of the Year, Mr. Larry Halvorsen.
