As you may know, last week Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in California in response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Although this can sound a bit scary, please note that to date there has been no threat escalation; this move serves as a financial preventive measure and will allow California to apply for federal funds, should there be a need. Redondo Beach Chamber is following guidance from BCHD and the LACDPH and recommends that we practice social distancing. We encourage all businesses to do the same. As the situation in the South Bay continues to evolve, and out of an abundance of caution that recognizes the unique needs and vulnerability of our community, the Redondo Beach Chamber has decided to change in-person meetings to conference call meetings. The Chamber has also postponed other public/in-person events, workshops, meetings and programs until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, reassess as needed, and keep you updated.
